I’ve installed VLC Media Player version 0.9.8 on my pc running Windows Vista. I want to stream live input taken through webcam in VLC to another pc through a LAN connection. But after installing VLC on the client pc, which is running Windows XP, having same version of VLC, the input is not getting streamed over LAN. I tried protocols like HTTP, RTP and UDP. Do I’ve to use any other software?
hmm… I would check the security settings on both computers to ensure that the ports you’re streaming on using VLC are not blocked… also whatever wireless nextwork or router you use may need to be configured to allow traffic to be freely passed on the desired ports.
